The Sustainable Projects Group (SPG) team focuses on energy assessments, implementation of energy efficiency technologies, and corporate sustainability planning with a foundational company wide value of actionable sustainability. We deliver a wide range of energy efficiency projects for property management companies, school districts, and universities. While SPG projects tend to focus on electrical work, the company also pursues other energy efficiency opportunities such as LED lighting, sub-meters, lighting controls, pumps, EV chargers, solar PV, pipe insulation, etc.

Currently we are hiring an Operations Manager. If you are an experienced project manager, with trades and engineering/consulting management experience, an entrepreneurial mindset, a high level of organization, and a broad range of experience in project delivery and leadership while possessing a passion for sustainability, you may be a great fit with our team.

This position leads a range of teams including our energy consulting division, the installation division, the estimating team and occasionally, subcontractors. Reporting to the President and the associated corporate team, the Operations Manager works alongside the Business Development Team, the Software Team, and Corporate Services while supervising a department ranging from 10 to 45 fulltime staff plus associated sub contractors.
Responsibilities:
· Project Management including change orders

· Leading and developing staff on site as well as in office support team

· Weekly internal reporting on project progress internally and with clients

· Overseeing safety compliance

· Identifying and maintaining relationships with sub-contractors

· Negotiating pricing with sub-contractors and suppliers

· Reviewing and updating project estimates for business development

· Planning and providing feedback on long term strategic growth of the Team

· Hiring and engaging staff

· Tracking and documenting time as it relates to working on research and development projects

· Travel is required

Required Skills:

· Proven success with project management (PMP is an asset) with an emphasis on projects with different subtrades and consultants). Preference given to candidates who highlight examples if this in resume/cover letter.

· Experience in trades and construction is essential. Incumbent must be familiar with technical items and able to procure and manage other subtrades (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, construction, etc.)

· Experience in energy consulting or similar engineering services

· Flexible communicator with the ability to effectively converse with clients, engineers, and site staff

· Hands on and willing to lead by example

· Exceptional attention to detail

· Excellent organizational skills

· Highly adaptable to work in a high volume, dynamic environment
